Letters Way
Walk the path of letters… and complete your path first
When was the last time you actually played together?

Duroob Al-Huroof (دروب الحروف) brings the gathering back to the gathering: one hexagonal board everyone can see, and phones that — for once — pull you together instead of apart. Answer, claim your cell, and complete your path before everyone else — straight from the browser, nothing to install, no accounts. Every answer doesn't just score a point: it changes the board.

2–6 players or teams · 20–45 minutes · a phone per player or team · the TV is optional
Session tools: join with a code · big screen
Questions and game interface are currently in Arabic — an English question pack is on the roadmap. Want it? Tell us in the form below.

One session… three screens

The board in front of everyone, the secrets with the host, the race in every hand

A real moment from a round: the question on the TV, the answer safely on the host's phone, and the «I answer!» button glowing — waiting for the fastest thumb

How many devices do you need?

One shared screen, one phone in every hand — everyone joins by code or QR, nothing to install. But an answer here doesn't just add a point: it builds a path and changes the board.
The big screen

A TV, laptop, or projector opens the screen page: the board, join code, and timer — visible to all, and it never shows answers. Optional: the board also appears on every player's phone.

The question master's phone

One "secret" device in the host's hand: only it shows the question, the answer, and accepted variants. From it the host judges right/wrong and runs the game.

A phone per player or team

Join by code or QR scan: the «I answer!» buzzer, secret power cards, and cell picking on your turn.

Minimum to start: 3 phones (host + two players) — add the big screen from any browser for a nicer session.

Up and running in a minute

Three roles, three steps — all run by one person: the question master
1
The host creates the game

From their phone they open "Create a game", pick the rules, and get a 6-digit code. Questions and answers appear only to them.

2
The big screen for everyone

Open the screen page on the TV: it shows the board, the code, a join QR, and the timer — never the answers.

3
Players on their phones

They scan the code and join with their names. On every question they race for «I answer!» — first press answers out loud and the host judges.

How to play

All the rules in a two-minute read
The goal: a connected path

Every player or team owns a "home" edge of the hexagonal board. Link your edge to the opposite one with a chain of adjacent cells in your color — the first completed path wins instantly.

The letter rule

Every cell carries a letter, and its question's answer starts with it. The definite article «ال» doesn't count: «النيل» (Al-Nil) is a valid answer for the ن cell. Answer right and the cell is painted your color.

The «I answer!» race

The first half of the timer is exclusive to the player whose turn it is, then the buzzer opens for everyone: first press stops the reading and answers. A wrong answer locks you out of that question — and may gift the cell to the turn holder if you enable the "haste penalty".

The corsair ☠

Path completely blocked? You turn corsair: attack any unshielded enemy cell with one of the hardest questions — answer it and the cell is yours, and your path may open again.

Numbered cells

Every letter appears on the board exactly once; the remaining cells carry numbers and hide their letter until picked — so calling "the ت cell" or "cell 7" is never ambiguous, and the fun gamble stays.

How it ends

A completed path = instant win. If the board freezes for full rounds (an optional rule), points decide: every answer earns points scaled by its difficulty.

Power cards

Three secret cards per player on their phone — one per turn

Nine knowledge worlds

An optional mode paints the board with category icons alongside the letters

FAQ

Do we need to install an app?

No. Everything runs in the browser: the host from their phone, the screen on the TV, and players join with a code or QR scan.

How many players?

Two to six seats, and every seat can be a whole team — so a session with twelve or more people works great.

Is the question master a player?

No — they see the answers, so they act as host and judge. It's a fun role in itself, and the family can rotate it between games. Minimum to start: the host plus two players or teams — 3 phones.

How long is a game?

Usually 20–45 minutes depending on board size and player count. The small board (the default) is the fastest.

Is the TV required? Can we play remotely?

The TV is optional: the board and questions can show on the players' own phones. That also enables remote play — show the question on phones and talk over a voice or video call.

What if a player's phone disconnects?

They reopen the same game link and return to their seat, points, and cards — the session isn't lost.

Is the game in English?

The questions and interface are currently in Arabic — the game was written for Arabic-speaking families, not translated. An English question pack is on the roadmap: register your interest in the form above and you'll be the first to know.

Is it kid-friendly?

Yes — after players join, the question master assigns each one a question level: "kids" (easier) or "adults" (harder), on the same board, with difficulty that adapts to how each player is doing.

Do questions repeat?

The bank holds 2000 questions and remembers what was asked across sessions, so repeats are rare and get rarer with every update.

Who judges the answers?

The question master — only they see the question, answer, and accepted variants, and they judge with one tap. That keeps the session human and warm, not robotic.

🎙 The game runs in Arabic

Questions, answers, and the game interface are in Arabic — you'll need an Arabic-reading host to run the session. Everyone else just needs a phone and quick thumbs.
